Meet the Team
Zachary C. Corbin
Zack became the General Manager for Virginia Beach Beverages in January 2015. He was promoted from his position as District Manager for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Central Virginia’s sales and distribution center in Warrenton, VA. He began his career as a Route Driver in 2002, and quickly learned all aspects of beverage sales. Soon he was promoted to Route Manager, and then District Manager. Zack credits his co-workers and previous supervisors for the opportunity to work for such a great company. In his words, he “wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.”
Joe’s career with Virginia Beach Beverages began in May, 2007, when he was hired as Sales Manager. Previously, he had over 21 years’ experience in the beverage business as a Driver, Warehouse Sales Person, and District Manager. He has always enjoyed the challenges and ever-changing face of the beverage industry. Since joining Virginia Beach Beverages, Joe obtained his Class A Commercial Driver’s License. He continues to enjoy his job and co-workers. He credits his employees and Virginia Beach Beverages’ Plant Manager, Zack Corbin, for helping make Virginia Beach Beverages a great place to work!

President and General Manager
Jay Jessup became President and General Manager of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Central Virginia in 1984, and subsequently Virginia Beach Beverages when PCVA acquired the company in 1994. He had been a professional musician before returning to Pepsi-Cola in 1983 to learn the family business.
Jay is a graduate of Blue Ridge School and St. Andrews Presbyterian College. He is very active in the Charlottesville Community and has held such positions as Director and Chairman of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, Director and Chairman of Blue Ridge School and a Director of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, Jay has also been active in a variety of soft drink associations, serving as a Director of the National Soft Drink Association and as President and Treasurer of the Virginia Soft Drink Association.
Jay is President of Ja-Zan LLC, a commercial real estate company, and is a member of First Presbyterian Church and Farmington Country Club. He serves as a Director of The Music Resource Center and is also a Director of the Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Association.
Suzanne J. Brooks
Executive Vice President
Suzanne became Executive Vice President of Virginia Beach Beverages' parent company, Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Central Virginia in 1984. Prior to this assignment, Suzanne served in several capacities as Brand Manager for Dr Pepper from July, 1981 to October, 1983 and as a receptionist in 1974 and again from August, 1980 through July, 1981. Before joining PCVA, Suzanne spent the previous ten years in Greenville and Kinston, NC going to school, running a restaurant, and teaching school.
Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management.
Suzanne currently serves on the board of, and was the first woman president of, the Virginia Beverage Association, The Brooks Family YMCA, The Paramount Theater, and the East Carolina University Foundation.
Everette Anderson is Vice President of Virginia Beach Beverages as well as its parent company, Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Central Virginia . He grew up drinking Pepsi-Cola, so he decided why not sell it, and applied for a job with the Company in December, 1965.
Everette began his career as a Swingman, but over the years advanced through various positions such as Salesman, Route Manager, Merchandising Manager, Sales Manager, Director of Sales Training, Director of Personnel, Marketing Manager, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Everette shares that his first “Fifty years with Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Central Virginia have been very enjoyable with all sorts of responsibilities. What a ride!”
Everette is involved in numerous community activities and holds positions with the International Board of Directors of SAM (Society for the Advancement of Management), Charlottesville Dogwood Festival, and IMC (Institute of Certified Professional Managers). Everette’s hobbies include Scuba Diving, international travel and Camping (43’ 5th Wheel!). Everette is a private pilot who enjoys flying his plane for business and pleasure.
Vice President of Trade Development
Ralph began his career with Pepsi-Cola of Central Virginia as a Route Salesman in 1975. Over the years he has worked at PCVA as a Route Supervisor, Territory Manager, Key Accounts Manager, Director of Retail, and currently serves as Vice President of Trade Development for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Central Virginia and Virginia Beach Beverages.
Ralph is a member of several Pepsi Joint Account Call Teams and has been a member of the Retail Sales Committee since 2014. He has participated in Sales and Management Training Courses including PCMI (Pepsi-Cola Management Institute), ICPM (Institute of Certified Professional Managers) and Dale Carnegie – Leadership Training for Managers. In 2010, he was a recipient of the PepsiCo President’s Ring of Honor award.
In his spare time, Ralph enjoys music, sports, playing golf, traveling, as well as spending time with his family.
Vice President of Finance
Bob Pflugfelder has enjoyed forty five years of experience in the soft drink industry. He has been with Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Central Virginia since 1984 and Virginia Beach Beverages since 1994 as the Vice President of Finance.
Bob earned a BS in Accounting and an MBA in Managerial Finance from La Salle University. He has participated in Management Training courses which include PCMI (Pepsi-Cola Management Institute), Post Graduate Education Program with Dr Pepper Co, SESCO Human Resources Course, and earned the CM Designation from ICPM (Institute of Certified Professional Managers) through JMU.
Bob’s volunteer positions in the community include current Vice Chairmen-Finance of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer and Life Member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, and he serves on the Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville. Bob was awarded a Hixson Fellow award in 2011, and in 2012 he was awarded the Distinguished Club President of the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville.
